The filter is easy to do maintenance on, although very heavy to move when full of water. Both of these canisters are awesome filters. There are 5 models for aquariums from 50 up to 1500 litres with various equipment. This will cost you more money, than just buying the Eheim 2262 straight out. But, in order to have the higher flowrates you will need the Eheim 1262 pump. However, the 2260 uses a big pump, and it sits on top of the filter (not submerged in a sump), so a slight humming noise is unavoidable. If you buy the 2260, and then the block valves, which is a must on any Eheim Classic Canister, you will save money.

I am very pleased with this filter so far. I have never used an FX5, but Eheim classic series filters, including the 2260, are probably the most silent filters on the market. Įxcellent build quality and worth the initial expense. Both are around the same price but with the 2028 coming with free eheim media.
